Brindhavana Vennilave Lyrics

What is the meaning of Brindhavana Vennilave lyrics?

This song is a heartfelt plea from a devotee, likely Radha or a Gopi, to Lord Krishna, personified as the "moonlight of Brindavan." The lyrics express a deep longing and devotion, questioning why there is still a distance or difference ("baedham") between the devotee and the divine beloved. The singer describes Krishna as the epitome of beauty and art, while offering herself as a source of joy and devotion. It captures the essence of Madhurya Bhava, where the devotee sees God as a lover, yearning for union and closeness. The song beautifully paints a picture of Krishna's enchanting presence: the moonlight in his eyes, his captivating smile, the divine Raasaleela, the melodious jingle of his anklets, and the sweet, worry-dispelling music of his flute. These descriptions highlight the overwhelming effect Krishna's divine form and music have on the devotee, causing her to forget herself and lose composure in sheer adoration. It's a classic devotional piece from the golden era of Tamil cinema, evoking a sense of spiritual yearning, surrender, and the intoxicating beauty of divine love.
