Paranthu Paranthu Engum Lyrics

What is the meaning of Paranthu Paranthu Engum lyrics?

The song "Paranthu Paranthu Engum" from the 1959 film 'Thaai Magalukku Kattiya Thaali' is a philosophical reflection on the simplicity and freedom of a bird's life, contrasting it with the complexities and hypocrisies of human existence. The lyrics praise the bird's unburdened existence, highlighting its freedom from societal divisions like caste and religious conflicts, and its lack of adherence to rigid scriptural rules. It suggests that the bird's life is superior because it is devoid of the artificial boundaries and endless disputes that plague humanity. The song further criticizes human hypocrisy, noting that birds do not engage in destructive acts only to then feign repentance before God. Instead, it advocates for a life of honesty and integrity, where one speaks the truth and lives without deceit. The central theme is a yearning for a simpler, more authentic way of living, free from the moral compromises and societal pressures that often define human life, drawing a clear parallel with the unadulterated freedom of a bird.
