Suttum Vizhi Lyrics

The blazing radiance of your eyes, Kannamma, Are they the sun and moon?
Your round black eyes, Kannamma, Are they the darkness of the sky?

The dark blue silk saree, With good diamonds studded,
Are like the stars that appear In the dead of midnight.

The light of the garden flowers Is your beautiful smile.
The blue waves of the sea Are the waves of your heart.

The sound of the beautiful cuckoo Is the sweetness of your voice.
Oh young girl, Kannamma, I have fallen in love for union.

You speak of scriptures, Kannamma,
What are scriptures for?
For those who are filled with passion, Kannamma,
Are there any scriptures to follow?

With the elders' consent, We will perform wedding rituals later.
Will I wait, look here, A kiss on your cheek.
