Thatthai Nenjam Lyrics

What is the meaning of Thatthai Nenjam lyrics?

This song is a classic romantic duet from the 1964 Tamil film 'Server Sundaram'. It's a playful and teasing conversation between lovers, likely depicting the early stages of their romance or a moment of intimate reflection. The lyrics use metaphors like a "parrot's heart" (representing the beloved's innocent and receptive heart) and "pecking parrot" (suggesting love bites or playful touches) to explore the blossoming of love and desire. The repeated questioning ("or not?") adds to the playful banter, as one lover gently probes the other about the impact of their affection. The song beautifully captures the subtle yet profound effects of love – how a kiss can sweeten the heart and sow seeds of affection, how adornments can touch the beloved's soul, and how intimate touches can bring immense pleasure and refine one's femininity. It's a celebration of nascent love, filled with tender curiosity and the joy of shared intimacy. The music by Viswanathan-Ramamoorthy and Kannadasan's poetic lyrics perfectly encapsulate the romantic mood of the era, making it a timeless classic that resonates with the universal experience of falling in love.
