Song Meaning & Analysis
This song is a poignant plea from a lover to the lake shore breeze, asking it to carry a message of longing to his beloved. He imagines the breeze traveling southeast to where his 'jasmine' (a term of endearment) resides, hoping it will convey his deep yearning. The lyrics beautifully capture the pain of separation and the enduring hope for reunion, using natural elements like the breeze and flowers as metaphors for his emotions and devotion.
The singer expresses how his heart is adrift and his youth has passed, leaving him with a sense of sorrow due to the twists of fate. His cherished memories bring tears, highlighting the depth of his emotional turmoil.
