Kadhal Swayamvaram Idaiyil Lyrics

What is the meaning of Kadhal Swayamvaram Idaiyil lyrics?

The song "Kadhal Swayamvaram Idaiyil" from the 1985 movie 'Viswanathan Velai Venum' is a fervent expression of a woman's intense love and longing. She likens her impending union to a 'swayamvaram' (a traditional self-choice marriage), but emphasizes the overwhelming urgency she feels in the interim. She sees herself as the music and her beloved as the melody, signifying their destined harmony and inseparable connection. The lyrics vividly portray the emotional and physical turmoil of being deeply smitten and yearning for her lover's presence. The protagonist describes how Cupid's arrows have left her with wounds of longing, causing her heart to melt with desire. Her passion is so profound that even everyday comforts like clothes and jewelry become burdensome. Lost in the intensity of her emotions, she loses track of time, blurring the lines between day and night. She desperately calls out for her beloved to come closer, declaring that she can no longer bear the separation and that sleep eludes her. The song beautifully captures the impatience, passion, and deep yearning of a woman consumed by love.
