Kanavu Ondru Lyrics

What is the meaning of Kanavu Ondru lyrics?

This song is from the perspective of a woman experiencing the first stirrings of love or intense attraction. She is overwhelmed by a new feeling, a "dream" that has begun to manifest, making her eyes warm with emotion. She feels a sense of vulnerability and confusion, unsure whom to confide in about these profound internal changes. The lyrics beautifully capture the internal conflict between her established sense of purity and the powerful, unsettling emotions that love brings, likening it to a goddess's garment potentially shifting, symbolizing a loss of composure or innocence. The song further explores her internal turmoil as she grapples with the impact of a man's gaze and questions. Her heart is disoriented, and she fears her "purity" might be compromised by these new feelings. The metaphor of a bird wanting to break free from its cage perfectly encapsulates her desire for liberation from her previous state of emotional confinement, even as she questions the implications of this newfound freedom. The music and lyrics together evoke a sense of tender longing, apprehension, and the intoxicating, yet frightening, dawn of romantic love.
