This song is a classic romantic plea from a man to his beloved. The lyrics beautifully express the intense longing and emotional turmoil he experiences in her absence. He compares his heart to a kite swaying aimlessly without her, emphasizing his dependence on her presence for his emotional stability. The setting of lamps being lit signifies the end of the day, highlighting his continued search and yearning for her even as night falls. The repeated phrases underscore the depth of his affection and the central role she plays in his life. The song further elevates the beloved by likening her to various beautiful and precious elements – a colorful parrot, a singing cuckoo, a creeper of beauty, a golden casket, and even classical Tamil. These metaphors not only praise her physical and spiritual beauty but also her significance as the very breath of his life.
