What is the meaning of Ullam Thedathe lyrics?

The song "Ullam Thedathe" from the 1962 film 'Edhaiyum Thangum Ithayam' captures the delightful conflict between a heart that tries to resist love and eyes that instinctively seek it out. It portrays the initial stages of infatuation, where emotions are overwhelming and confusing, yet undeniably joyful. The lyrics express a sense of longing and a mind that has wandered, indicating a deep emotional connection that has taken root. The singer marvels at how love blossoms naturally in the hearts of the young, even if one doesn't immediately recognize it. The narrative progresses from this internal struggle to the acceptance of a shared journey. It suggests that their story began amidst some initial 'clash' or playful resistance, but ultimately, both hearts have embarked on the path of love. The song culminates in a joyful declaration that love has blossomed for both, ending worries and signaling a future together, metaphorically suggesting it's time to 'close shop' and settle down. It's a charming portrayal of budding romance, emotional surrender, and the anticipation of a shared future.
