Unnai Ondru Ketpen 2 Lyrics

What is the meaning of Unnai Ondru Ketpen 2 lyrics?

This poignant song from the 1964 film 'Puthiya Paravai' captures the deep emotional turmoil of its female protagonist. The lyrics, delivered by P. Susheela, express a profound sense of sorrow and reluctance to engage in joyful expressions like singing. The woman questions what she could possibly sing when her heart is heavy, stating that the time is not right for love songs and she hasn't yet experienced motherhood to sing lullabies, hinting at unfulfilled desires or a past that prevents her from embracing such happiness. The metaphors of a "sky without a moon" and a "cloud without water" vividly portray her inner emptiness and lack of vitality. Her "silent womanhood" and "truth that won't sing" suggest unspoken pain, suppressed emotions, and a life that feels incomplete or burdened. The song beautifully conveys the idea that true expression comes from the heart, and when the heart is grieving or burdened by circumstances, it finds no melody to offer, making it a powerful reflection on human suffering and resilience.
